According to the commissioner’s office, reliever Jay Marshall, who the Mets claimed off waivers in January, will be returned to the A’s, due to a pre-existing shoulder injury. Marshall had a career 7.66 ERA through 49 innings in 61 relief appearances for Oakland since 2007, while walking 22 batters and striking out just 19.
